Bring Forth The Immortal Moles

Mole

Hello internet crickets and empty void. It is I, Russ. I would not be authoring this were it not for a mind-numbing, world-is-a-grapefruit-like coincidence of immense proportions. Via this three year old BBC News Health article, there is a going scientific theory that the number of moles you have can be an indicator of the length of your telomeres.

In other words, your mole count (while possibly making you MORE susceptible to certain types of cancers — because there is no moley free lunch) might be indicative of your cell’s ability to replicate properly — and hence your ability to live to 400 — or thereabouts.

Now, the great part about this article is not that it provides yet more circumstantial evidence that your humble blog post author will indeed achieve his dream of immortality (as he is exceptionally moley), but that The Mep Report podcast predicted the association between moles and immortality FOUR FULL YEARS BEFORE THIS THEORY EXISTED. What? Yes. Oh yes. Indeed, the yes.

I present to you, Exhibit A: A Mepisode highlight from 2006, which can strangely no longer be found on this website — so here’s the highlight via the UK’s podcast directory.

Oh, aren’t you so sad that this podcast is in limbo now. Clearly it holds the keys to understanding the space-time continuum AND the even-numbered principle of face-eating moles. Weep, you.
