I recorded some fantastically washed-out grainy video in an attempt to share this experience with you. Not only do the following clips give you a sense of the performances, they also recreate the crowd’s futile attempts to see anything amidst a standing room only mob. In any case, enjoy the festivities:
A truly unexpected performance here from the WWF’s Iron Sheik.
This is a comedy video, not child friendly, put out by a group of NYC comics. For all of you that can’t make it out to the real NYC scene, here’s a little taste.
You can also check out the original “Damn I wish I was Your Lover” by Sophie B. Hawkins if you’d like to see what they had parodied…not as fun, but very 80’s and she actually uses “shucks” as a lyric…
We’re going to pretend that The Mep Report, hippest, hottest, most tuned in website to all things weird and wonderful on this great big Internet of ours, didn’t take four days to link to this work of art. We’d appreciate it if we just kept this minor oversight, you know, between you and us. Okay? Appreciate it.
Yes, the repeated use of iconic movie scenes makes this piece a shoe-in for massive internet appeal, but the execution (especially in the first half) is good enough to fully commandeer the pop-culture brain of virtually every 18-40 year old in proximity.
